Christiane Amanpour is CNN’s chief international correspondent and anchor of the network’s award-winning, flagship global affairs programme “Amanpour”. Amanpour rose from a reporter at the New York bureau in 1983, to the network’s leading international correspondent. Christiane has earned every major TV journalism award including ten News & Documentary Emmy Awards, four Peabody Awards, two George Polk Awards, three duPont-Columbia Awards and the Courage in Journalism Award. She has received nine honorary degrees, has been named a CBE and was this year inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame. She is an Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo, for her coverage of the Bosnia war in the 1990s.
